EcoBeats 5-week Drumming & Ukulele courses

EcoBeats offers a 5 week after-school drumming course and a 5 week after-school ukulele course for primary and high school students in Tweed Heads. A perfect way to try out a new instrument without too much commitment! The $100 fee is also covered by the NSW Creative Kids Voucher. Drums and ukuleles provided for the classes.

Term 3 special class for 5-6 yr olds

Mondays 4pm

In this 5 week course students will get to learn on both drums AND ukulele. They will learn and develop their rhythm skills on the drums, try out singing and some basic strumming and chords on the ukulele.

The class will be on Monday afternoons at 4pm starting August 15. Classes will be 40 minutes long.

As EcoBeats is a NSW Creative Kids Provider, the $100 fee for the 5 week course is covered by your NSW Creative Kids voucher. If you live in QLD or if you have already used your Creative Kids voucher but wish for your child to participate in the program there is an option to pay for the course online or via bank transfer. If you haven’t registered for your Creative Kids voucher yet simply visit service.nsw.gov.au/creativekids or call 13 77 88.

5-week drumming course

EcoBeats 5 week drumming course for primary and high school students is a fun way of teaching drumming and music to students. Students will learn:

How to listen to each other
Basic music theory including rhythm, counting and timing
Dynamics and tempo - speeding up, slowing down, playing louder and softer
Simple to more complex drum beats
Drum technique
Drum rudiments and fills
To participate in all activities and give everything a go

5-week Ukulele course

EcoBeats 5 week ukulele course for primary and high school students is a fun way of introducing an easy-to learn string instrument. Students will learn:

Basic strumming patterns
Basic chords
To play some one and 2-chord songs
To listen to each other
To sing and play at the same time
The parts of the ukulele and how to tune a ukulele
To participate in all activities and give everything a go
